Testing and Certification Day 2017

The Testing and Certification Day 2017 was successfully organized on November 4, 2017 (Saturday) by the Open University of Hong Kong. Around 100 participants attended the seminar. In the beginning, Prof Reggie Kwan (Vice President) and Dr David Chung (Under Secretary for Innovation and Technology, Innovation and Technology Bureau of the HKSAR government) delivered the welcoming and opening speech. Then, Ir Felix Chan (Chairman, Industry Training Advisory Committee of Testing, Inspection and Certification Industry, Qualifications Framework) and Prof. KC Ho (Dean, S&T) presented the certificates to the RPL writer and assessor.
Six guest speakers were invited to share in the seminar. The first speaker is the Hon Ir Dr WK Lo presented a talk “Greater Bay Area – Opportunities for The Testing and Certification Industry“. The second speaker, Ir Morris Cheung (Chairman, HKIE – CAI Division) shared “Engineering a Smart City with Control, Automation and Instrumentation” and Ir Dr. Tommy Lo (Chairman of HKICA) introduced Certified Professional Auditor and Mutual Recognition Arrangement with Mainland China. After the break, the speaker, Prof Eddie Lock presented “Why & What ISO 50001, Energy Management System, is Carrying Out? ISO 50001” and shared a success case in Hong Kong International Airport. The fifth speaker, Mr. William Yim (CTO of Sanwa Biotech Ltd and President of Hong Kong Critical Components Manufacturers Association) shared a success case of Biomedical Research and Development, from Concept to Business Launch. The last speaker is Dr George Lau (Programme leader and Associate Professor of Testing and Certification Team) presented “Testing and Certification at Daily Life”.
