Testing and Certification

T he Hong Kong Council for Testing and Certification (HKCTC) was established by the HKSAR Government in 2009 to lead the development of the industry. According to the statistics from the Government (published in 2014), Tthe direct economic contribution by the Testing and Certification Industries to Hong Kong’s Gross Domestic Product was $6.5 billion. The number of persons engaged in testing, inspection and certification activities was 17,510 in 2014. About 43% were professionals and associate professionals whose main duties were to provide testing, inspection and certification services in 2014. The Open University of Hong Kong is offering a series of testing and certification programmes including JUPAS programmes, part-time face-to-face postgraduate programmes, and distance-learning undergraduate programme. Testing and certification laboratories

OUHK new college

A range of laboratories including chemical and microbiological, electrical and electronic, physical and mechanical, and research testing and certification laboratories outfitted with advanced instruments will be constructed to support the testing and certification programmes.
